Best Time to Go: Maui is a year-round destination with its moderate tropical climate. The average annual temperature of around 75 degrees F (24 degrees C) fluctuates only a few degrees from summer to winter. This area is known for the sunniest and driest climate on Maui.

Getting There: To get to the resort, you can fly to the Kahului Airport, a 20-minute flight from Honolulu. The airport is 35 minuted by car from the resort. To get around the resort, use the complimentary Wailea shuttle service.

There is an upscale hilltop clubhouse that services all three courses at Wailea Golf Club. Its signature dining spot is SeaWatch, a stunning open-air restaurant cooled by the gentle tradewinds. Here you can relax and enjoy exceptional seafood delicacies.

The Grand Wailea Resort fronts the famous Wailea Beach, a spectacularly long stretch of golden sand, wonderful for walking, swimming, and great for sun bathers. Just off the end of the beach, is an amazing collection of coral where you can spot turtles, manta rays, tons of brightly colored tropical fish, and beautiful underwater plants. You can easily snorkel to this area from the beach.

Lighter fare, including sandwiches, salads, and exotic drinks are served poolside at the Volcano Snack Bar and for guests who don't want to leave the water, Grotto Bar, in the Wailea Canyon Activity Pool, serves drinks.

The most unique feature of this pool complex is the world’s only water elevator. It is built into the side of a huge rock formation taking you to the very top where all the water slides start. The four water slides will remind you of the “Raiders of the Lost Ark”! They're decorated as if you are in rocky hills and forests with rapids, a rope swing and much more.

An exclusive 100-room "small hotel within a hotel", Napua Tower is the centerpiece of the Grand Wailea. Napua and its five guest wings are surrounded by six art gardens, part of a $30-million permanent collection in the resort's "outdoor museum".
